How The Site Works

Last updated May 4, 2026. This page describes the current behavior of the Scuba Speed site and game.

What We Collect

If you play anonymously, the game can submit a nickname, score, rep timing data, side-mode data, and related run metadata to power the leaderboard. If you create an account, the site also stores your account identifier and chosen username. If you use email or Google sign-in, authentication is handled through Supabase and, if selected by you, Google.

Camera Access

Scuba Speed asks for camera access so the browser can run on-device pose and hand tracking during gameplay. The app is designed to process motion in the browser for rep counting. The production checklist for this repo states that the app stores scores and metadata, not video recordings.

Browser Storage

The site uses essential browser storage for sign-in session persistence, account setup flow support, and related account/session behavior. The site no longer stores a separate best-score value on your device between visits.

Third Parties

The current codebase uses Supabase for authentication and leaderboard/account data. If you choose Google sign-in, Google participates in that login flow. As of May 4, 2026, this repo does not include advertising tags or standalone analytics scripts.

Your Choices

You can sign out of your account in the app and clear browser data in your browser settings.

Your Privacy Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account by contacting founder@continem.com. You can also delete your account from the account screen while signed in. We will review and respond to requests in line with applicable law.

Some information may need to be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or to preserve the integrity of submitted leaderboard records. When a signed-in user deletes an account, the login and profile are removed and previously linked leaderboard runs are retained in anonymized form.
